Monica is an experienced family law attorney known for her balanced approach to high-conflict cases—combining strong litigation skills with empathy, insight, and practical guidance. With more than a decade of exclusive family law experience, she helps clients navigate difficult transitions with clarity, dignity, and confidence.
Monica is a Washington native and a graduate of the University of Washington, where she earned her B.A. in English Literature in 2001. She went on to receive her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law in 2007. Since 2011, Monica has practiced family law exclusively and has represented clients in motions, arbitration, mediation, depositions, and trial across King, Pierce, Snohomish, Skagit, Benton, and Lewis Counties.
Clients value Monica’s ability to combine fierce advocacy with genuine compassion. She is known for being a steady, empathetic presence—always striving to “walk a mile” in her clients’ shoes while guiding them through some of the most challenging seasons of their lives.
Monica’s commitment to community is a significant part of her professional identity. She has an extensive background in social-justice-oriented legal service, including five years of weekly volunteer work at Seattle Union Gospel Mission’s Open Door Legal Services, where she was named Volunteer of the Year in 2008. Her broader pro bono experience includes supporting survivors of domestic violence, assisting low-income clients with civil legal issues, and serving immigrant communities.
As the daughter of hard-working immigrant parents, Monica is fluent in Korean and passionate about supporting immigrant families navigating the legal system. She has also participated in service trips to Cambodia, the Philippines, and Korea, working with orphans and refugee communities.
Outside the office, Monica can usually be found in her kitchen cooking a wide range of cultural cuisines for her family and friends. To stay active, she attempts to keep up with her husband and children—who love skiing, biking, boating, and jet skiing—but she is happiest enjoying a moment of quiet in a clean home.
