Services Experts
Steven Hemmat is a highly experienced Family Law practitioner, former U.S. Department of Justice Trial Attorney, and founder of The Hemmat Law Group. He has been practicing civil and family law for 36 years – working as an advocate on both sides of thousands of cases across Washington State.
Over the course of his career, Steven has gained an appreciation for how alternative dispute resolution (ADR) can bring about better results for parties in a variety of conflicts. As a provider, Steven can arrange for mediations in person, remotely, or by travelling to the parties themselves.
Steven prefers to conduct mediation via shuttle diplomacy, where the parties are placed in separate rooms and never see or speak to each other directly. The Mediator then travels between the parties and attempts to settle the dispute through alternating discussions.

Yaniv is a valued part of the Hemmat Law Team’s Mediation practice. He is the firm’s international discovery and mediation analyst assisting clients and counsel by performing psychological review as part of the mediation services process and support in hotly contested cases where mental illness and abuse is a primary concern.
If it is required, Yaniv meets with parties before the date of mediation and triages potential issues for full review by the mediation team. This helps reduce wasteful downtime, when the mediator would normally have to spend precious time familiarizing themselves with the circumstances before negotiations could begin.
